Maggie - an Old English Sheepdog at Death Valley NP

I love writing ekphrastic poems and was thrilled that The Ekphrastic Review selected this amazing painting, “Guernica” by Pablo Picasso (1937) shortly after i visited the painting at La Reina Sofia art museum in Madrid. My poem was published in Dec 2022.

The inspiration for this title came from from Daniel Patrick Moynihan who said: “I don’t think there’s any point in being Irish if you don’t know that the world is going to break your heart eventually.”
